I work from my home in New London, Minnesota where I'm also a member of the city council. My work at the Center for Rural Policy and Development is focused on rural workforce shortages, rural migration patterns, busting myths related to the rural narrative, and researching policy issues related to rural economic development.

During my off time, you will likely find me floating in my kayak, bicycling across rural Minnesota, gardening, spending time with my wife and cat, and generally shying away from places where there are large amounts of people.
